The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team continues their busy start to the season tonight when they welcome West Branch to the Kalona Golf Course Monday. The Golden Hawks had two meets within the last week, falling to Regina in Kalona to open the conference season before splitting a triangular Thursday at Cedarcrest in Columbus Junction, beating the Wildcats and dropping the matchup to the Washington Demons.
Two different Golden Hawks were team leaders in the last week with Dominic McCain taking meet medalist honors in CJ Thursday with his round of 38, against Regina it was Warren Scarff with his 52. West Branch comes into the contest 1-0 on the year after a 174-216 win over West Liberty on the road. Gage Gingerich was meet medalist with a 42. Other scores for the Bears included Will Bridges 43, Dylan Countryman 44, and Brady Knoop 45. These two teams last met in 2019 with the Golden Hawks edging the Bears 178-181 in Kalona. Action starts tonight at 4p.m. And continues into the evening at the Kalona Golf Course.
