Tuesday is the biggest regular season date on the Mid-Prairie boys golf calendar, when they host their annual 18-hole Golden Hawk Invitational at the Kalona Golf Course. The Golden Hawks were in action Monday at Tipton when they fell in a River Valley triangular to the Tigers and Monticello. On the season, the Golden Hawks are led by senior Dominic McCain who shot 38 for medalist runner-up honors at Tipton. He has broken 40 in all tournaments on the season and has a 38 average per nine holes. Others include Aiden Bush and Warren Scarff with 52 averages, Drew Schlabaugh at 58 and Ben Mattes 59.

Two area teams are joining Mid-Prairie today in Kalona including the Washington Demons. So far this year, the Demons have won a triangular against Mid-Prairie and Columbus in CJ and finished second in a Southeast Conference triangular last week at Mount Pleasant, falling to the Panthers, but beating Keokuk. On the season, the Demons are led by Roman Roth with his 38 average per nine holes including a low round of 37. Other team members for Washington include Teague Mayer at 45, Isaac Vetter and Grant Sobaski 49 and John Prochaska 50.

Highland will also be in Kalona today. The Huskies have dropped duals to Hillcrest Academy and Lisbon to start the year. Peyton Yeggy and Jamison Kasparek lead the Huskies with 60 averages per nine holes, Kasparek has posted a team low, round of 49 this season. Other Huskies include Brock Schaedler 64, and Isaac Black 68.

Joining Mid-Prairie, Washington and Highland in Kalona today will be Durant, Mount Vernon, North Cedar, Regina, West Branch, West Liberty and Wilton. Action begins at 12:30 and continues through the afternoon and evening in Kalona.
