Two area high school boys soccer teams received recognition this week in class 1A from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association poll. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks are up two spots from a week ago to No. 8. Mid-Prairie has an unblemished 3-0 record as the Hawks took apart Tipton 8-1 on Tuesday of this week. On the year, Mid-Prairie is led by Owen Trimpe’s five goals and Ethan Trimpe’s four assists. Keaton Graber has worked 205 minutes in goal stopping five of seven shots faced for a 71.4% save percentage.

The Columbus Wildcats are the top team receiving votes in 1A. The Wildcats are just outside of the official poll with a 3-1 record. This year Columbus has wins over Mount Pleasant, Wapello and Highland with their lone setback a 2-1 loss at home against Mediapolis.
