The Mid-Prairie girls soccer team saw their three game winning streak come to an end Monday when they were shut out by visiting Solon 2-0 in Wellman. The Spartans tallied once in each half with Morgan Link supplying both goals. After the match, Golden Hawk head coach Justin Barthelman talked about what his team can take from the performance. “Solon did a good job. They were physical and won a lot of balls in the midfield. I told our girls if we were going to win this game we were going to have to start winning some of those 50/50 balls and in the second half we did a better job with that. Besides that I thought we kept them in check pretty well. They also did a great job of keeping Esther Hughes in check with their speed and physicality on defense. It was tough for our offense.”

With the loss, the Hawks fall to 3-2 on the year and travel to Anamosa on Tuesday.
