The Hillcrest Academy boys soccer team makes the long trip south on Tuesday to take on Central Lee. The Ravens are 1-1 on the season. After opening the year with a 5-2 win over Highland, Hillcrest was beaten by No. 1 Burlington Notre Dame Thursday in Kalona 8-0. On the season, the Ravens are led by Will Kolck with three goals. Noah Miller and John Hughes each have one. Hughes, Dominic Bouse and Johnny Diaz all have one assist. In goal, Aiden Krabil has worked 160 minutes, made 25 saves and has a 71.4% save percentage. The junior set a school record against Notre Dame with 22 saves.
Central Lee is 2-1 this year. After opening with a 10-0 loss to Burlington, Notre Dame, the Hawks have rebounded to beat Wapello 11-1 and Keokuk 3-2. On the year, Central Lee is led by Seth Mayes with five goals and Cole Krehbiel with four. Landan Lowenberg has four assists. In goal, Blake Moeller has served 210 minutes, made 22 saves and has a 62.9% save percentage. Hillcrest has won nine straight against Central Lee, including a 2-0 win in 2019. Action between the Hawks and Ravens starts tonight at 6p.m. at Central Lee High School.
