It’s set to be a big day in Des Moines for the Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams Thursday when they participate in the Drake Relays.

The Golden Hawk girls will have seven events on the blue oval Thursday. Mitzi Evans will run for the Hawks in three events, qualifying eighth in the 400, 13th in the 800 and a member of the 4×100 team which stands at 17th. Tori Boyse is a multiple time qualifier for Mid-Prairie. She’s 23rd in the shot put field and 13th in the discus field. Mid-Prairie’s Danielle Hostetler will also perform in multiple events, seeded eighth in the 3,000 and 12th in the 1,500. Mid-Prairie’s Cain Brown will represent the Golden Hawk boys in the high jump where he is seeded sixth.
