A Rubio felon was arrested for being in possession of a firearm Wednesday.
Court documents show that at about 10:30 a.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to locate 61-year-old Kelly Dene Andeway as they had a warrant to search his residence. Andeway was said to be in the Rubio area on a motorcycle, which a deputy in a fully marked patrol vehicle believed to have located. The deputy followed the motorcycle operator as they turned west into a yard in the 100 block of Prost Street and then parked. The operator then entered the residence, where a large aggressive dog was let out. Sheriff’s deputies surrounded the residence in an attempt to locate the male. They determined the suspect went through the house and exited out the back garage door. Andeway was then located at a trailer northwest of the residence.
A search warrant was executed at Andeway’s residence in the 200 block of 4th Street where law enforcement found a rifle with a scope. Andeway has previous felony convictions from 1993 and 2002. Andeway was charged with felon in possession of a firearm, a class D felony, and interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
