Cedarcrest Golf and Country Club was the destination for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference coed golf meet on Thursday with Columbus Community and Winfield-Mt. Union splitting the action.
The Columbus girls won on their home course with a nine-hole score of 249 compared to the Wolves’ 268. Jobie Lekwa was meet medalist with a 50, Vanessa Ayala recorded a 64, Faith Barnhart 64, and Atlie Hand 71. WMU scores included Isabel Kann 60, Abbie Cooley 62, Ava Hagge 67, and Alli Humphreys 79. The WMU boys returned the favor and shot a 175 to beat the Wildcats’ 209. Five Wolves shot in the 40s including meet medalist Brady Loyd with a 40. Jacob Kongable carded a 43, Bryce Wade 44, and the final spot belonged to Seth Schurr and Carter Loyd each with a 48. Columbus scores included Robert Coil 46, Cole Storm 52, Grant Watson 55, and Logan Bright 56.
The Wolves get back on the links today hosting New London and the Wildcats welcome Wapello on Monday.
