Racking up points is what the Lone Tree boys’ track team did on Monday by placing third at Belle Plaine’s coed meet.

The Lions placed third out of eight with 90 points while the host Plainsmen won with 114. Alex Viner had a busy day of winning by taking first in the 100m (11.98), long jump (20’5’’), and being part of the victorious distance medley relay (4:01) along with Cade Patterson, Cade Shield, and Nick Staltzman. Tyler Bell took gold in the discus with a heave of 114’7’’. Other top performances included Alberto Cortes second in the 800m (2:17), Harry Brenneman third in high jump (5’8’’), Viner third in the 200m (24.75), and Bell third in the shot put (37’5.75’’). 

The Lion girls managed 22 points to place ninth. The sprint medley relay placed third (2:06), Kasey Chown fourth in the high jump (4’6’’), Dani Pettitt sixth in the discus (67’5’’), and Avery Lisk sixth in the long jump (13’7.5’’).
