For the first time this year, the Washington soccer teams were swept by the hands of a Southeast Conference opponent with Fort Madison prevailing in both contests.
Seeking revenge for a 4-2 loss a few weeks ago against the #13 ranked Bloodhounds (8-1), the Demon boys had a hard time stopping the quick Fort Madison offense and trailed 6-0 at the break. The Washington offense got going in the second half, but they never threatened in a 10-3 defeat. Zac Stout, Brayan Arreola, and Emmanuel Raymundo all found the back of the net for a Demon squad that is now 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the league. The Washington girls made a trip to Fort Madison (2-4) and could not manage the season sweep over the Bloodhounds losing 4-3. The Orange and Black falls to 3-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC.
Both the boys and girls face off with Burlington tomorrow.
