The Mid-Prairie boys soccer team puts their unbeaten mark on the line with a trip to Cascade tonight to take on the Cougars. The Golden Hawks are 6-0 on the season and ranked No. 7 in class 1A in this week’s poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. Last time out, Mid-Prairie hammered No. 13 Columbus on the road 6-2 in CJ behind Owen Trimpe’s third hat trick of the season. For the year, Mid-Prairie is led by Trimpe with 11 goals, 10th most in class 1A. Ethan Trimpe leads the Hawks with six assists, ninth most in Iowa in 1A. Keaton Graber has made 12 saves on the season and has a 75% save percentage.
Cascade comes into tonight 5-1, after having their five match winning streak to start the season snapped Tuesday by West Liberty in a 10-0 game. For the year the Cougars are led by Trevor Freiberger with seven goals and Justin Roling with six assists. In goal, Willy Lynch has made 48 saves with an 80% save percentage. This is the first all-time meeting between the schools. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. at Cascade High School.
