A non-conference doubleheader took place in West Liberty on Thursday when Columbus Community clashed with the Comets and the night ended with a split. 

The Wildcat girls got back to their winning ways with a 3-1 victory over the Comets (2-4). Odalyz Valdez, Juvixsa Valdez, and Alexa Alcala all found the back of the net and assists came from Alcala, Odalyz Valdez, and Aaliyah Santos. Alynna Leos came up big in goal with 17 saves. Columbus improves to 4-2 on the season.

The boys had a hard time stopping Jahsiah Galvan and his four goals to lead the Comets (7-2) to a 10-0 win. The Wildcats drop to 5-4 overall. 

The Columbus girls face off with Mid-Prairie on Monday and the boys have Central Lee on Tuesday.
