Officials are investigating a house fire that resulted in two deaths Monday in Mount Pleasant.

At about 3:29 a.m. an emergency call was received of a house fire in the 1100 block of North Redbud Lane, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department responded, and while extinguishing the fire the bodies of two deceased individuals were located inside the home. Investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting with the incident. Names of the deceased have not been released at this time, pending notification of family. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
