The Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams traveled to Anamosa Thursday for the annual River Valley Conference Championship track meet. The Mid-Prairie girls won the conference title with their score of 136 points, beating second place Northeast by 46 points. The Hawks had six championship events on the night. Mitzi Evans won the 800 in a time of 2:22.64. Sydney Yoder took gold in the 1500 in 5:04.41. Danielle Hostetler was the champion in the 3000 with her time of 10:26.40. Tori Boyse won the shot put with her throw of 38’7″. The Mid-Prairie 4×200 team of Maddie Edgington, Amara Jones, Alyssa McDowell and Amber Swart were champs in 1:50.03 and the distance medley team of Edgington, Swart, Evans and Hostetler were best in 4:19.49. Other top finishes for the Golden Hawk girls included Boyse second in the discus, Ella Groenewold second in the high jump, second for the 4×100 team of Edgington, Jones, McDowell and Swart and runner-up for the sprint medley team of Edgington, McDowell, Swart and Evans.
The Golden Hawk boys finished fifth of 14 schools with their score of 73.50 points. Bellevue won the RVC title with 108 points. On the night Mid-Prairie had one championship event with Cain Brown beating the field in the high jump, clearing six feet. Other top finishes included runner-up for Clarke Latcham in the 400 hurdles, runner up for the shuttle hurdle team of Latcham, Luke Albright, Kaden Meader and Brown and third place for Jamie Stutzman in the 3200.
