At their recent city council meeting the Kalona city council approved a motion to give back to medical professionals and teachers in the community. Staff for Mid-Prairie, Hillcrest Academy and Pathway Christian School will be given a one-time complementary Kalona Pool pass for the 2021 season. Medical professionals will be given certain dates, determined by the city of Kalona and Washington County YMCA staff, where they can bring their work ID to the pool to redeem their pass. Those dates will be shared on the city of Kalona website when decided. The council approved an increase of $1,000 for their YMCA pool operational agreement to cover the expense.
