The Mid-Prairie and Hillcrest Academy boys golf teams played their home course in Kalona together on Tuesday when they welcomed West Liberty. The Golden Hawks rolled to the win, on the strength of their best nine hole team score of the year at 182. West Liberty shot a 203 to come in second. The Hawks were led by medalist Dominic McCain, who in his final meet at Kalona, fired a personal best even par round of 36. Other scores for the Hawks included Drew Schlabaugh 46, Aiden Bush 48, Ben Mattes 52, Warren Scarff 55 and Ian Schmidt 60.
Hillcrest Academy shot 211 as a team. The Ravens got a 46 from Jace Rempel to lead the way. The highlight for Rempel and everyone on the course Thursday was his hole-in-one on Kalona’ par three, eighth hole. Other scores for the Ravens included Luke Schrock 51, Josiah Beachy 56, and London Schrock 58.
