The push to vaccinate area residents against COVID-19 continues for local public health departments with the inclusion of people 12 and older now being eligible for shots. Louisa County Public Health is now offering the Pfizer vaccine to individuals 12 and up in a two-dose series 21 days apart, along with the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines for those 18 and older. To schedule an appointment call 319-523-3981. The Pfizer vaccine is also available at Washington and Fairfield Hy-Vees and Columbus Junction Hy-Vee pharmacy.

Louisa County Public Health is also vaccinating those 65 and older through the Community Health Centers of Southeast Iowa in Columbus City and homebound individuals, both by appointment.

Friday, from 10-11:30a.m. Henry County Public Health is hosting a vaccine clinic at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant featuring the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines. Iowa County Public Health is hosting a clinic from 9 a.m. to 4p.m. Wednesday, May 26th. All of these clinics are free for participants.
