The soccer season came to a close for the Columbus Community boys on Monday when they traveled to Mediapolis and were edged by the Bulldogs 1-0 in a class 1A substate semifinal.

Mediapolis’ (13-5) Michael Brown found the back of the net in the first half and that proved to be the only scoring in the defensive battle. The Wildcats finish the campaign 8-7 and bid farewell to three seniors in Avinn Newton, Diego Solis, and Jose Vasquez.
