Just before 3a.m. Wednesday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle that had previously eluded another area law enforcement agency. When the officer attempted a stop in the 1100-grid of Highway 218 near Olds, the vehicle again began to elude law enforcement and a pursuit ensued. During the chase, the vehicle committed several additional traffic infractions and criminal violations before losing control and crashing. Two Henry County Sheriff’s Office squad units were also involved in a crash during this incident.

Following the wreck, the driver 22-year-old Keoone Walls and 26-year-old Labron Baltimore of Minneapolis, fled on foot and were later located, identified and arrested. Damage to property and the vehicle were estimated to be more than $10,000. Walls was charged with felony eluding, operating while intoxicated, criminal mischief, interference with official acts, hemp inhalation, open container, no driver license, speeding, failure to maintain control, driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway, improper use of lanes, and no insurance while involved in an accident. Baltimore was charged with interference with official acts, open container and hemp inhalation. Baltimore has been released on bond while Walls remains in the Henry County Jail.

Assisting with the incident were the Mount Pleasant Police Department, Henry County Paramedics and the Mount Pleasant Fire Department.
