The Hillcrest Academy baseball team wraps up a busy week tonight when they host New London in Kalona. The Ravens have been in action every night this week with 3-1 record so far including wins over Columbus, Winfield-Mt. Union and Wapello. Their lone setback came at West Burlington Wednesday. For the year, the Ravens are hitting .305 as a team with a staff ERA of 3.94. Individually, the Ravens are led by London Schrock with a .438 average, 16 RBI and 14 hits. On the mound London Schrock, Seth Ours and Liam Schrock are all 1-0 this year.

New London is an unbeaten 7-0 this year. The Tigers are receiving votes in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. In their last action the Tigers beat West Burlington 16-0 on Thursday. For the season, New London is hitting .439 with a team ERA of 0.58. Individually, New London is led by Carter Allen with a .522 average, 15 runs scored and 12 RBI. On the mound it’s Josh Catala with a 3-0 record across 12 innings, 15 strikeouts and no runs allowed. Hillcrest has won the last two in the series including an 8-4 victory in 2019. Action starts tonight at 7p.m. in Kalona.
