It was a short night on the softball field for Winfield-Mt. Union on Tuesday when they hosted Mediapolis in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference showdown and had little trouble in a 10-0 victory.

The Wolves plated three runs in both the first and second inning, two in the fourth, and tacked on two in the sixth for the mercy rule win over the Bulldogs (1-12). Madie Anderson threw a complete game in the circle giving up just one hit and that was the only baserunner allowed. The senior struck out 15 batters and finished with 64 pitches. The offense compiled 15 hits led by a 3-for-4 with two RBI performance from Jobey Malone. Keely Malone also had three knocks and Anna Anderson recorded three RBI.

WMU improves to 10-3 overall, 8-2 in the league, and returns to the diamond tonight at New London.
