An hour trip to New Sharon resulted in a couple losses for the Keota baseball and softball teams last night when they dropped the South Iowa Cedar League showdowns with North Mahaska.

The Eagles broke a 4-4 tie in the baseball game by plating a run in the top of the seventh, but the Warhawks (9-4) immediately answered with two in the bottom half to manage the walk off win. Keota had six hits with Brady Duwa slamming a dinger and finishing with three RBI. Carson Sprouse threw 6 1/3 innings on the rubber giving up six runs (two earned) on seven hits and striking out three. Keota’s record now sits at 7-4.

The Eagle softball team gave up three runs in the first and seven in the fifth to fall 10-0 to the Warhawks (7-7). Keota is now 0-9 on the season. Both Eagle summer programs travel to Sigourney tonight.
