Dueling with another Southeast Conference rival is what’s in store for the Washington summer teams tonight when they travel to face Mount Pleasant for a doubleheader.

The Demon baseball team sits at 7-5 on the campaign after splitting two with Fairfield on Monday by winning 5-4 in game one and dropping the nightcap 13-3. A pair of Trojan errors helped Washington score a pair in the seventh for a walk off victory in the opener. The team scattered six hits with Lucas Kroll having a triple and Jacob Miller recording two RBI. Kole Williams was strong on the hill tossing 5 2/3 frames giving up no earned runs on five hits. Mount Pleasant sits at 2-11 and last dropped a doubleheader to Fort Madison with 15-0 and 14-4 final scores.

The Demon softball team got a home victory last night against Centerville (4-12) by beating the Big Reds 6-3. Kellie Dallmeyer had a solo shot to left field and Olivia Hamilton went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Bella Salazar got the win in the circle with six innings pitched without giving up an earned tally on seven hits and seven strikeouts. Washington is 11-12 and they face off with a Mount Pleasant squad that got their first victory on Tuesday against Mid-Prairie to improve to 1-19.
