The Mid-Prairie softball team started the weekend with a road trip, traveling to class 5A Davenport West for a doubleheader. The Hawks fell in both ends of the double dip by scores of 11-1 and 13-1. In the opener, West jumped out with three runs in the first and one in the third to build a 4-0 lead. The Hawks came up with a run in the top of the fourth when Dakota Mitchell drove in Sophia Baker to make it 4-1. From there, West tallied two in the fourth and five in the fifth to end the game early. Hannah Sellers had two hits including a double for the Mid-Prairie offense. Myah Lugar took the loss in the circle, working four innings, allowing 11 hits, six runs and striking out one.

In the nightcap, West stayed hot at the plate, scoring seven times in the first and once in the second to grab an 8-0 advantage. The Hawks got their run in the third when Myah Lugar drove in Sophia Baker to pull Mid-Prairie within 8-1. The Falcons scored four in the bottom half and one more in the fourth to finish the game early. Dawsyn Miller took the loss in game two for the Hawks, throwing two thirds of an inning, giving up four hits, eight runs and walking five. Mid-Prairie is now 4-20 on the season and travels to Wilton tonight.
