
After a tough week, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team remains in this week’s class 2A poll from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. The Hawks fell from third to seventh in the state after going 3-2 last week, sweeping a doubleheader against West Branch, being swept in a doubleheader by Eddyville-Blakesburg and rebounding to beat Bellevue. On the year, Mid-Prairie is hitting .364, second best in the state in 2A. The Hawks have a team ERA of 3.63. Individually, they are led by Aidan Rath, hitting .500 with a best in the state nine home runs. His 1.148 slugging percentage is second best and his 26 RBI are 10th most in 2A. On the mound Rath and Keegan Gingerich are a matching 3-1. Rath threw his first career no-hitter Monday in a win over Wilton on the road and has a 1.20ERA. Alex Bean, Cain Brown, and Collin Miller are all unbeaten on the year. The Golden Hawks will next be in action Thursday when they host Anamosa.
