
The Keota Eagle baseball and softball teams hosted English Valleys Wednesday and came away with a split. The Eagle baseball team posted a 12-2 win in six innings. Keota scored in every inning, putting up two each in the first second, fourth and sixth innings to go with one in the third and three in the fifth. The Bears scored their two runs in the first frame. The Eagles finished with 14 hits and drew 10 walks. Colten Clarahan had a big night at the plate going four for five including a homer and five RBI. Brady Duwa also homered, going three for four with a pair driven in. Clarahan was the winner on the mound, working two innings, giving up two runs and striking out five. The Eagles are now 9-6 on the year.
The Eagle softball team had a quick start but fell victim to an EV comeback, dropping their contest 13-3 in six innings. Keota scored three times in the top of the first to take an early 3-0 advantage, only to watch the Bears put up two in the bottom half, two in the second, six in the fourth, one in the fifth and two more in the sixth to end the game early. With the loss, Keota falls to 0-13 on the year.
