The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team came up short in two contests over the weekend at the Linn-Mar tournament. The Hawks opened the tournament with a 12-0 loss to No. 2 in class 5A Fort Dodge in three innings. The Lady Dodgers scored 11 times in the first and added one more in the second. Fort Dodge cranked out eight hits, while holding the Hawks hitless.
In their second game of the tournament, Mid-Prairie lost to Waverly-Shell Rock 3-2. The Go-Hawks scored three runs on eight hits. The Golden Hawks finished with just two hits against Marley Hagerty who went the distance in the circle for Waverly-Shell Rock, striking out 15. With the two losses, Mid-Prairie is now 6-25. They travel to Tipton tonight.
