The Hillcrest Academy baseball team dropped a return matchup with Mediapolis Thursday in Kalona 6-1. In a game heard on AM and FM KCII, the Ravens got on the board first against the state ERA leader Ryan Ensminger when London Schrock belted a two out triple and came home on a Luke Schrock RBI single. Hillcrest starter Eli Ours was sharp early, sitting down the first 10 Bulldogs he faced, opening the game perfect through three and a third innings. MEPO got to Ours the second time through the order, scoring three times on four hits in the fourth to go up 3-1. They would add a pair of insurance runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh. After the game, head coach Danny Hershberger talked about what he saw from his team.
