A Milwaukee man was recently convicted of harboring a child against the parent’s wishes and other charges from Washington County.
Court documents show that through a plea agreement, 26-year-old Clarence Ernest Bell is convicted of harboring a child, an aggravated misdemeanor; and in another case he was convicted of conspiracy with intent to deliver a counterfeit controlled substance under 50 kilograms, a class D felony. A class B felony drug charge and a class D felony charge of failure to affix drug tax stamp were both dismissed. He was also convicted of disorderly conduct, a simple misdemeanor.
Prison sentences of five years for the drug count and two years for harboring a child were both suspended with credit for time served. Bell is to be placed on three years of probation for each case to be served concurrently. Fines totaling $1,375 were suspended and he must pay category B restitution, though he was ordered to pay a $65 fine for the simple misdemeanor.
These cases stem from incidents that occurred in April of 2020. The Washington Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of South C Avenue where they located a 17-year-old minor who was reported missing out of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Several baggies of methamphetamine tablets and cannabis were also found.
