kids-day-3

Area youth can enjoy a plethora of free entertainment at the Washington County Fair tomorrow as part of Kids Day.

Kids are admitted for free from 9:30-11 a.m. sponsored by Washington County Hospital and Clinics with activities including an obstacle course, pony rides, story time, assembling a first aid kit, and much more. Washington County 4-H and County Council member Haylie Trowbridge says a new element for Kids Day will be the barn hosts, 4-H members stationed at livestock and other animal barns to welcome children, answer their questions, and teach inexperienced visitors how to approach animals safely, “They’re going to be [wearing] yellow hats, and they’re going to have little bags of stuff and kids are going to be able to go up to them and ask them any questions about the animals. Some might even get to pet the animals, I know I’m planning to have an animal out that kids can pet.”

The barn hosts will be out from 9 a.m.-noon, and other free activities tomorrow include Little Hands on the Farm from 9 a.m.-noon and 4-7 p.m. at the Round Barn, Lew-E’s Comedy Circus and the Rondini Show at the Lions Stage, and a robotic showcase at the 4-H Hall. You can find more details about Kids Day above as KCII continues to broadcast live from the Washington County Fair.
