The 49th annual Iowa Shrine Bowl is just a few days away and a couple Southeast Iowa football players will suit up for their respective school one final time.
Washington’s Trashaun Willis and Sigourney-Keota’s Brady Duwa will be a part of the south team in a game that will feature some of the best talent in the entire state. The game is not only an all-star contest for graduating seniors, but a charity event to help raise money for The Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. To date, this game has raised over $2,760,000 in its nearly 50 years of existence. Players have a week full of practice, events for hospital children and their parents, and a parade all leading up to the game.
Willis and Duwa will continue to be teammates this fall playing at Grand View University in Des Moines. Former Washington head coach and current Iowa City Liberty head man James Harris will be an assistant on the south team. The game gets underway Saturday at 4 p.m. in Cedar Falls and tickets can be purchased online at iowashrinebowl.org.
