The 129th Louisa County Fair is underway with the theme of “Celebrating the Bounty of Our County.”

Monday will serve as a day for those in different animal shows and competitions to have their entries checked. Tuesday will kick off the festivities with a free breakfast from 7-9 a.m. with the sheep show starting at 8. Events are scheduled until 6 p.m. and feature a free dinner, ice cream contest, Nick’s Kids Show and the Bill Riley Talent Show. Wednesday’s events will run from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. headlined by IMPACT Pro Wrestling match at the grandstand. Louisa County Fair Board President Tim Whittaker gives his thoughts on the upcoming matches, “That’s a lot of fun. They were here a couple of years ago and the kids really got into it. It was a lot of fun for everybody. They’ll do eight or 10 matches for us.”

Thursday will feature many activities for kids with the Kids Animal Show, Reading on the Patio, Kids Pedal Tractor Pull, arts and crafts, and the Chris Short Puppet Personalities Show. The whole family can catch the Farmers Olympics at 7 p.m. at the show barn. Friday will continue with a pie auction, stock car races, fireworks, and a teen dance from 9 to midnight. Saturday will wrap up the fair with a free breakfast, livestock sale and demo derby.

KCII is broadcasting live from noon-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Louisa County Fair as part of the Big Red Radio Summer Town Tour.
