Mid-Prairie High School will begin the 2021-22 school year with a new principal.

Chuck Banks was brought in to the Mid-Prairie School District earlier this summer to take over for former principal Jay Strickland. While Banks may be new to the district he has an extensive background in education dating back to 1997. In 2009 he became the principal in the Van Buren Community School District before heading to Oskaloosa as an associate principal in 2018. With the school year approaching, Banks shares his excitement about his new position, “I’m excited to be a part of Mid-Prairie community. I feel fortunate to have this position and I’m gonna do everything I can to help our kids achieve at high levels. We’re gonna try and push them beyond what they thought was possible and we’re gonna do the same with our staff. We’re just excited to get the year started and can’t wait until August.”

The Mid-Prairie school year is scheduled to start August 23rd.
