The Keota City Council is coming closer to finalizing a before and after school program for the Keota Community School District.

Superintendent and High School Principal Jim Henrich presented a 28E agreement along with estimates for enrollment and cost of wages to the council during their July 19th meeting. The agreement states that the city would be responsible for administering and managing the program and payroll as well as obtaining all necessary permits and licenses for operation of the program. The school district would be offering the facilities and hiring staff. A request was made to have the agreement sent to the city attorney for review. All council members and Mayor Tony Cansler were in agreement to want to move forward with the program. Henrich hopes to have a response back from the council before the council’s meeting on August 2nd.
