Five members of the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team were recognized for their work on the diamond this season by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association, being named to the All-Southeast District team in class 2A.

Mid-Prairie senior Aidan Rath was a first team pick at pitcher. On the mound, Rath compiled a 5-2 overall record in 30 innings with a 1.60ERA. Opponents hit just .103 against him, eighth best in 2A. He gave up just 11 total hits, seventh fewest in the state and struck out 63. At the plate, he led class 2A with 12 home runs. His 1.106 slugging percentage was second in the state. He hit .494 with 40 RBI, ninth most in Iowa on 57 total hits and scored 38 runs.

Senior catcher Vinnie Bowlin was a first team selection. Bowlin hit .330 with 29 total hits, 19 RBI and 15 runs scored. He committed just four errors all season ending with a .969% fielding percentage, eighth in the RVC and 122 put outs fourth most. He threw five innings with an 8.40 ERA.

Freshman Karson Grout was a first teamer at short stop. His .432 average was fourth in the River Valley with 41 total hits, second most, 33 RBI third most and 31 runs scored fourth most. On the mound he put together a 2-1 record with a 4.08 ERA. He worked 24 innings, striking out 31 and opponents hit .189 against him.

Second team selections included senior second baseman Kayden Reinier and senior utility man Keegan Gingerich. Reinier hit .372 with 35 total hits, sixth in the RVC, driving in 16 and scoring 44 times eighth most in 2A. He went 1-2 on the mound with a 3.50 ERA, working 26 innings, striking out 29 and opponents hit .297 against him. Gingerich hit .398 for the year, fifth in the River Valley. He finished with 37 hits, 27 RBI, both fifth in conference and scored 17 times. On the mound, he worked 22 innings with a 4-1 record and 4.94 ERA, striking out 19 and allowing a .186 opponent batting average against him.

The Golden Hawks finished the year with an 18-9 overall record in the 2A substate finals. They were champions of the south division of the River Valley Conference.
