With new vendors, free programs, SNAP benefits, and more the Washington Farmers’ Market has been a popular attraction this summer, which is emphasized during National Farmers’ Market Week.

The Washington Farmers’ Market is spreading messages on social media this week about the value markets bring to their communities, such as stimulating local economies, increasing access to nutritious food, and promoting sustainability. Main Street Washington Executive Director Sarah Grunewaldt says it’s been a great season so far with their inaugural Farm Fables book giveaway and other promotions, “Each week we have a featured guest as well as a featured food truck so all of those details are on our website or our Facebook page and we post at 7 a.m. on Thursday morning with what that list is for the week and some additional information.”

The 33rd annual Washington Farmers’ Market season takes place Thursdays from 5-7:30 p.m. through October 14th, and you can find more information here.
