Mid-Prairie’s Aidan Rath has added another award to his storied Golden Hawk athletic career. The Mid-Prairie senior was named first team all-state in class 2A as an outfielder by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association this week. On the mound, Rath compiled a 5-2 overall record in 30 innings with a 1.60ERA. Opponents hit just .103 against him, eighth best in 2A. He gave up just 11 total hits, seventh fewest in the state and struck out 63. At the plate, he led class 2A with 12 home runs. His 1.106 slugging percentage was second in the state. He hit .494 with 40 RBI, ninth most in Iowa on 57 total hits and scored 38 runs.

Rath is continuing his baseball career next year at the collegiate level as he attends Kirkwood. The Golden Hawks ended the season with with a 19-8 overall record. They were champions of the River Valley Conference South Division in the regular season and district champions before ending their year in the substate final.
