The Winfield Crooked Creek Days celebration has made its way back on the scene starting tonight.

Festivities start at the Twin Lakes Country Club with a walking taco supper, youth bags tournament and a family friendly dance by Kustom Karaoke and DJ. A performance by the Adam Whitehead Band at 9 p.m. will wrap up events Friday night at the Welcome Inn. Saturday begins with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. with the Crooked Creek 5k Fun Run, parade, “Ga Ga” Ball tournament, toilet bowl races and Might of the Crooked Creek Strength Contest following in the afternoon. An adult bags tournament, worship and movie night at City Park hosted by Revive 24:7 and adult street dance will highlight the evening events. A dedication of the Henry County Freedom Rock will take place at 7:30 p.m. where people can come see the artwork of Ray “Bubba” Sorenson II and Henry County’s ties to the armed services. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Let Freedom Rock” to honor his work. Winfield Deputy City Clerk Lisa Rees gives credit to local businesses for helping financially support this year’s celebration, “Our local businesses have stepped up and they have been very very generous. With that we’re able to offer all the inflatables, all the games, pony rides, all that kind of stuff is gonna be at no charge.”

Sunday will wrap up the weekend with a community church service at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church followed by the JR Hewitt memorial Car Show and Softball tournament at 11.
