As the Iowa State fair continues, residents in the KCII listening area are already walking away winners.

Joshua Carr of West Chester won first place overall in the Cinnamon Ridge Farms Amazing Ribs competition, judged on August 12th. Ashley Evans and Steven Jones of Washington took second place in the machine shed pies rhubarb pie and wood projects roughouts-human competition, respectively. Alice Grimm of Riverside took home awards in the fabric and threads crochet competition finishing second for centerpiece and luncheon clothing and third in dresser scarf or runner, tablecloth, and baby sweater or jacket. Other Riverside winners include Colby Hershberger in first place for embroidered items and sock animal in the junior fabrics and threads competition, Joey Elliott taking second place for infant/toddler garment with smocking or heirloom sewing and David Miller taking second place in the big pumpkin challenge with his 716-pound pumpkin.
