The Riverside Community and Business District Incentive Grant program is continuing to help residents and local businesses improve the community.
During their August 16th meeting, the Riverside City Council approved three applications for the incentive grant. Clean On Greene was approved for $5,412.50 to help provide maintenance, upgrades and repairs to equipment as well as improve the overall appearance of the business. Riverside Auto Spa was approved for $4,735.50 to purchase LED light wall packs for the exterior of the building, a new exterior sign with their new logo and an Amweld hollow metal door. Steve Musser was the final approval for the grant at $2,500. The money will go towards the removal and replacement of five pairs of shutters, an exterior and storm door and two overhead garage doors and openers at his residence.The application period for both programs ended in July with a $10,000 budget for the community beautification incentive grant program. Financial assistance could not exceed more than $2,500 per applicant. All funds have been used for this program. A budget of $20,000 was set for the business district incentive grant with a maximum of $10,000 in financial assistance per project. According to City Administrator Christine Yancey, around $15,000 in total was awarded to different business applicants.
