Residents have two weeks left to file to run for their respective city council or school board.

The deadline to file is 5 p.m. September 16th for the November 2nd city and school election. Seats that are up for grabs for the City of Washington are for the mayor, second ward, fourth ward, and an at-large council seat. On the Washington Community School Board terms for the second and fifth districts and one at-large seat are expiring. Nominees must file an affidavit of candidacy and nomination petition with their respective city clerk or school board secretary. For more information visit here.
