As the application deadline for Washington County Public Health’s administrator position closed on August 27th, the County Board of Health discussed next steps during a work session Tuesday.

County Human Resources Director Amber Armbruster informed the board that she has received 10 full applications, and Board Chair Cathy Buffington proposed there be an application review committee of public health staff Roberta Sloat and Peggy Wood, board members Dr. Christopher Grier and Connie Larson and interim administrator and Jefferson County Public Health Administrator Chris Estle. The committee members will then review the applications that will be labeled so they don’t know the applicants’ names and then each pick their top five candidates. Armbruster will then comprise the top five candidates for the board to then discuss at their next regular meeting on September 16th. The board then anticipates interviewing three to five candidates. A potential hiring date was not mentioned.
