The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a bid letting date for a secondary roads project in the city of Washington during their Tuesday meeting.

The supervisors approved a bid letting for Monday, September 13th preceding their regular meeting as they will not be meeting that Tuesday. The letting is for a grinding project on West 18th Street northwest of Washington. County Engineer Jacob Thorius says this project will be done in conjunction with some work on Lexington Boulevard and was a part of the county’s five-year plan. The board also approved an item that was added late to the agenda regarding a 28E agreement between the secondary roads department and the city of Washington for design and administering of a project and the city would reimburse them for their portion of the project’s cost, which equates to 23.6% of the project. In other business, the supervisors approved the appointment of Robert Stewart as a deputy sheriff and Kyle Evans as an Information Technology assistant for the sheriff’s office.
