A pair of KCII area volleyball teams are in tournament action today when Hillcrest Academy and Winfield-Mt. Union travel to Wilton.

The Ravens come into play with a 3-9 overall record following a five set loss at Mediapolis on Thursday. On the year, Hillcrest is led by this week’s JET Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week Esther Hughes with 68 kills and 28 blocks. Fellow senior Norah Yoder has 144 assists and freshman Malia Yoder leads the Raven defense with 92 digs.

Winfield-Mt. Union is 4-3 on the season after a four set loss at the hands of the Wapello Arrrows in Winfield Tuesday. On the year, the Lady Wolves are led by a trio of juniors. Bradie Buffington with 42 kills, Keely Malone with 102 assists and 15 blocks and Keetyn Townsley with 73 digs.

Joining the two area teams in the tournament are Burlington, Midland, Mount Pleasant and the No. 3 ranked in 2A Beavers. The tournament is a round robin format. Action starts at 9a.m. and continues throughout the day at Wilton High School.
