Washington-area residents can find or flip secondhand items in a new community event hosted by the local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter.

A “Junk in the Trunk” flea market event will be happening around Central Park this Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. DAR Treasurer Marj Lins says residents can fill up their car and head downtown to sell their wares, “Everybody seems to love flea markets and rummage sales and we think it’s easy because you don’t have to clean out your garage. You just pile everything in your vehicle, bring it downtown. You pay us for the spot, or if you don’t want to put your vehicle [out] you can just set up tables in the spot.”

Cost is $35 to rent one space and $50 for two. There will also be food vendors for the public to enjoy. Proceeds will be going toward scholarships for graduating seniors and improvements to the log cabin at Central Park. Sellers are asked to reserve their spot in advance, and you can find contact information above.
