A new business is opening this month at 2005 260th St southwest of Washington to provide some fall frolicking for area families.

Orange Acres Pumpkin Patch at Turner Family Farms is set to open to the public for two days, Saturday, September 18th and 25th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Over four acres of pumpkins in different shapes and sizes have been planted with a corn maze, kids games, farm animal barn tour and more. Owner Brayton Turner says his family began planting pumpkins for personal use five years ago, “We just kind of had about six or eight different mounds that we started going pumpkins for ourselves to decorate around the farm. We just kind of brainstormed about doing a pumpkin patch and we ended up planting about four acres. And we got numerous varieties of different kinds of pumpkins and it just kind of evolved from there to putting in a corn maze and having some animals. Hopefully people will come out and enjoy it as much as we do.”

Admission is $5 per person and children ages two and under are free. Included in the ticket is access to the corn maze, farm animal barn tour, kids games and hayrack ride. Prices for pumpkins vary for different sizes and varieties. Gourds, mums, corn stalk bundles and small straw square bales will also be available for purchase. For more information visit here.
