It’s a busy night for area cross country teams at the English Valleys Invitational at Knoll Ridge Golf Course in North English. Five schools from the KCII listening area will attend.

Hillcrest Academy will run tonight. They were last in action Thursday at Waterworks Park in Fairfield. The Raven boys were 13th of 13 schools with a score of 633. They were led by senior Collin Miller with an 84th place finish in 20:39. Other runners for Hillcrest included Micah Gerber 95th, Jesse Blossom 157th, Quang Huynh 183rd and Garrett Hurst 195th. The Hillcrest girls did not have a team score. They were led by a 38th place finish from Leah Bontrager in 23:48. Other Raven runners included Delaney Shaw 99th, Morgyn Nafziger 125th, and Julia Boller 128th.

The Highland Huskies ran twice last week, Tuesday at Sigourney and Thursday in Fairfield. At the Fairfield meet the Highland boys did not post a team score. Of the times and places that were recorded Jackson Schneider was 159th in 23:43, Brendan Schnoebelen 182nd and Andrew Lana 185th. The Highland girls were also without a team score. Evelyn Waters was 80th in 26:00.

The WACO Warriors also ran at Sigourney and Fairfield during the last week. At Fairfield, the WACO boys finished 12th with 528 points. Of the times and places were recorded for the Warriors Wyatt Dennis led the way in 35th with a time of 19:21. Keiran Luitjens was 105th, Isaac Rich was 121st, Jonah Egli was 131st, and Deacon Bird was 196th. The WACO girls did not have a team score, they were led by Hannah Dennis 83rd in 26:05. Justine Lynn was 85th, McKenzie Vradenburg 101st, and Avery Waterhouse 115th.

The Lone Tree Lions were also at both Sigourney and Fairfield. At Fairfield, the Lion boys did not post a team score. They were led by Taylor Alberhasky in 138th in 22:48. Jaydin Grieser was 155th and Joey Birtcher 180th. For the Lady Lions, Vivian Zaruba was 97th in 27:07.

The Sigourney Savages were on the course twice last week, once hosting their home meet on Tuesday, the second at Davis County on the course at Lake Fisher. In Bloomfield, freshman Reanah Utterback was 29th in a time of 27:30. Kinnick Palmer on the boys side was 32nd.

Joining these five area teams in North English are Belle Plaine, Durant, HLV, Iowa Valley, North Mahaska, Tri-County, Wapello and Wilton. Action starts at 4:30 and continues into the evening.
