A Brighton man was recently sentenced for violating his probation in Jefferson County.
Court records show that 38-year-old Jason Robert Potts must spend 365 days in a residential treatment facility or until maximum benefits are achieved. Potts shall continue serving five years probation for a class C felony controlled substance violation, second-degree theft, a class D felony, and unauthorized use of a credit card, an aggravated misdemeanor. Potts was originally given a suspended prison sentence in August 2020 for events that occurred in October of 2019. He was found guilty of violating his probation a previous time this July and was sentenced to 15 days in jail.
