One person was cited following a three-vehicle collision that occurred northwest of the city of Washington Monday morning.
KCII reported live on scene for the incident that occurred at about 9:31 a.m. at the corner of Highways 1 and 92 and Lexington Boulevard. Washington Police Chief Jim Lester says Brooke Rarick of Ainsworth was driving a 2003 Buick LeSabre westbound on West 5th Street and entered the intersection into the path of a southbound 2021 Toyota Camry on Highway 1/92 driven by Jedediah Seward of Kalona. Seward’s vehicle struck Rarick’s vehicle which then struck an eastbound 2003 Volkswagen Passat on Lexington Boulevard driven by a juvenile male from Iowa City. Rarick was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way. Traffic was limited to one lane on Highway 1/92 while crews worked to clear the scene. No injuries were reported. Washington Fire Department, Washington County Ambulance Service, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Streets Department, and Moore’s Towing also responded to the scene.
