Seeking their first district win of the season is the goal tomorrow night for the Columbus Community football team when they welcome Pekin for week five action.
The Wildcats are 1-3 overall, 0-3 in class A district 5, and they look to rebound after a 40-0 loss to Lisbon with a shorthanded squad last week. Kaden Amigon has got the run game going the last few weeks with 388 yards total and a pair of touchdowns. The sophomore also has 26.5 tackles for a defense that has surrendered 37 points a game. They will look to change that against a Pekin offense that has struggled to put the ball in the end zone with just 10 points a night. The 0-4 Panthers are led by quarterback Colton Comstock with 490 yards of total offense and four touchdowns. Logan Baker has 19 tackles on the other side. Pekin was blanked 35-0 last week against Wapello.
The matchup gets underway at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Columbus Junction.
